Presentation by Nguyen Tuan Quang – Representative of Saltlux on AI Technologies in Language Services

In the new technological era, artificial intelligence (AI) has become an indispensable factor in the management and operation of organizations and businesses. The language service industry is no exception. By integrating AI into translation services, we have witnessed remarkable advancements in quality and speed, better meeting the diverse linguistic needs of modern society.

innoword, a service branch of the Saltlux Group, has made a mark with over 40 years of experience providing language services to thousands of large enterprises globally. innoword offers not only conventional language services (translation, localization, technical document translation, desktop publishing, quality management (LSA), subtitling, dubbing) but also AI-enhanced services (machine translation (MT), translation memory management (TM), terminology database management (Termbase), video and audio transcription, and specialized language services for AI/machine learning models). This capability allows innoword to quickly meet the needs of large global organizations with timely and cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.

The seminar at ULIS was lively, with many lecturers from the translation and interpretation community posing practical questions about the application of AI in this field.

Associate Professor Le Hung Tien, an expert in English Language and Literature, asked: “Can businesses ensure quality standards when using machine translation services?”

In response, Mr.Quang stated: “With 40 years of professional translation experience serving specialized fields such as biochemistry, science, technology, medicine, aerospace, and aviation, our language services team at Saltlux adheres to the highest standards, from customer feedback to implementing 11 quality control steps per ISO 9001 project management and ISO 17100 translation quality management standards. Even with machine translation, human intervention in quality control steps ensures optimal translation quality.”

Following the presentation, Lecturer Vuong Thanh Nhan from the English Department expressed keen interest in the advanced translation technology shared by Saltlux. She hopes to collaborate with Saltlux to create more job opportunities in the translation field.

The cooperation between universities and businesses not only meets the increasing demands of the labor market but also builds an advanced learning and research environment, helping students maximize their linguistic knowledge and skills acquired in the classroom. Saltlux believes that the collaboration with ULIS represents a significant step forward and contributes importantly to building a sustainable language and translation community, aiming for the prosperous future of the global language industry, which is growing alongside technology.
